La Unión sits between Cartagena and the coast and has a stronger working-town identity than many buyers expect from this part of Murcia. The old mining landscape still shapes the place, giving it a very different character from the nearby beach markets and a clearer sense of history in the streets and hills around it. Buyers are often drawn here when they want to stay close to the sea and to Cartagena, but prefer a more local and less resort-like base. La Unión feels more grounded, more compact and more rooted in everyday life.
