A first feel for this place
Adra sits at the far southwestern end of Almería province and feels more like a real coastal town than a place shaped mainly by second-home demand. Its long history, working-town base and position between the sea and the agricultural west give it a steadier and more local feel than some of the province’s better-known beach markets. Buyers often look here when they want the coast, but prefer a town with everyday substance and less holiday-driven pressure. Compared with Roquetas de Mar or Mojácar, Adra usually feels more grounded and more tied to ordinary routine through the year.
